About Us

Mission Statement

I am licensed in the state of Texas and InterNACHI certified and maintain standards above the required levels for continuing education. After the inspection, I remain available for any questions or follow up that may be required.

My property inspection reports are clear and concise, with digital photos, graphics, descriptions, informative narratives and a report summary for quick reference and to aid in preparing a repair list for the sellers. Reports are always delivered  generally within a few hours of the inspection.  Reports are emailed (available for download ) to my client and realtor (if requested by client) in PDF format for easy delivery, printing and storage.

For your peace of mind, I offer the Porch 90 Day Inspection Guarantee  which begins on the day of your inspection. I encourage you to be present at the inspection to allow me the opportunity to fully explain my findings and to familiarize you with the property. You are welcome to attend the entire inspection or just the final hour. I enjoy serving my clients and look forward to working with you.  Your complete satisfaction is my goal!  Sincerely, Christopher L Juarez

My Job

Knowing the condition of the home before you buy or sell will help to eliminate unpleasant surprises, lower your risk, and give you peace of mind.  It is my goal to provide you with the knowledge and information you need to make an informed decision. Although we TREC inspectors perform the same quality inspections and follow the same protocol, I  go beyond the SOP promulgated by TREC, utilizing the following equipment : Pinless Moisture, Gas, Amprobe, Load Tester, Temperature, Humidity meters, Outlet testers as well as Flir Thermal Imager, Megalite Mold sampling equipment, Smoke pencils and a 30 foot wireless Pole Cam to inspect un-walkable areas of the roof.

Your inspection report will include a detailed review of the systems listed below and any additional cost services such as thermal imaging, pool/spa  etc :

  • Foundation  / Walls / Ceilings
  • Windows / Doors
  • Garage
  • Detached Garage / Shop
  • Built-In Appliances
  • Fireplaces
  • Attics
  • Roofing
  • Heating System
  • Cooling System
  • Electrical
  • Insulation
  • Sprinkler Systems

I am certified to perform these additional ICC approved inspections :

  •  POOL / SPA
  • ADVANCED ELECTRICAL (Load Testing  - to detect branch wire and receptacle hazards)
  • DECKS

Additional Services

(IR) Thermal Imaging / Energy Assessment / Mold Inspection

NOTE On I.R. Imaging :   Although Infrared Thermal Imaging is a far better diagnostic tool than the naked eye, anomalies must be verified using additional test equipment that I utilize, unless removal or destruction of components can be achieved to validate findings. But even with these considerations I do not claim to have x-ray vision. Conditions may change and cause the apparent temperature readings revealed in Thermal Images to be different at any given time.

Recommended for locating a problem before it becomes a major expense and to assist in preventive maintenance . Floors, walls, ceilings, electrical panels and plumbing is scanned. There is no charge if active water leaks or suspect electrical overloads are detected during a conventional home inspection. Deficiencies will be scanned and reported.

Homeowners have taken advantage of my energy assessment services in El Paso. Being the only InterNACHI certified Home Energy Auditor in New Mexico and one of very few in Texas, do not be fooled by un-certified companies that claim to perform these assessments with accuracy. I utilize the tools and knowledge to provide my clients with the most accurate energy assessments and include a customized energy report with cost savings recommendations.

Many local, state, and federal entities offer grants and tax credits for energy-efficient home improvements. Check with your local utility or city, or check the DOE-sponsored Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) at www.dsireusa.org.

Moisture intrusion from the exterior or interior plumbing creates the ideal environment for mold or mildew. If you ignore the mold problem in your home it will grow. The more mold there is, the more costly the removal, so address your mold problem as soon as you suspect you have one. Mold has a musty odor that is indistinguishable from any other smell. Respiratory and other health ailments have been linked to inhaling mold spores. I sample air outdoors and indoors (at the location of the suspect mold) Two representative mold samples are swabbed or taped and submitted, along with the air samples, to Pro-Lab for analysis. You will receive a detailed analysis of the findings within four business days.

Pool and Spa Inspection

Whether you want to sell your residential or commercial property, purchase one, or simply ensure the safety of your loved ones and/or visitors in and around the pool, a pool and spa inspection is a necessary step.

Mechanical and electrical equipment, pump operation, filter operation, decking, pool surface and connected components are inspected. Deficiencies and recommendations are included with report.

What is inspected -

  • Pool fences, gates and access
  • Pool deck conditions, drainage and trip hazards
  • Coping, skimmers and lids
  • Pool or spa body, drains, plaster, finish and tile
  • Pumps, filters and heaters
  • Lights, timer boxes, grounding
  • Slides, diving boards and pool ladders

  • For a thorough inspection of the pool surface, please remove any covers and ensure it has been vacuumed or swept prior to the inspection.

Note to my customers :

Any of these additional cost services can be     bundled into your conventional home       inspection at a discount. Request              "The Bundle Package"

Domestic Well Inspection

Well operation and inspection of well head, pressure switch, pressure or hydropneumatic tank, cisterns (If applicable)  grading around well and condition of electrical and mechanical components. Water quality testing is not included with inspection. Deficiencies and recommendations are included with report.

NOTE On Water Quality :  Some groundwater contains natural dissolved elements, such as arsenic, boron, selenium, or even radon, which is a gas formed by the natural breakdown of radioactive uranium in soil. Whether these natural contaminants are health problems depends on the amount of the substance present. Many serious problems (coliforms, bacteria, heavy metals, nitrates, radon, chemical volatile organic compounds (VOCs)s,  etc.) can only be confirmed through laboratory testing of water samples. It is recommended that well water be tested annually.

For additional information, clients may contact the EPA’s Safe Drinking Water Hotline at (800) 426-4791 or the American Ground Water Trust at (614) 761-2215      www.epa.gov/safewater/healthcare/special.html

The following questions will help homeowners determine when it is necessary to test the groundwater supply-

  • Is there a new baby in the household, or is someone nursing or pregnant?
  • Are there taste or odor issues?
  • Is the water beginning to stain sinks, tubs, and/or clothing?
  • Has there been a change in the water's color or clarity?
  • Has there been a chemical or fuel spill or leak near the water supply?
  • Are there unexplained illnesses in the family?

I am very happy with the thoroughness of our home inspection. Mr. Chris Juarez was clearly knowledgeable and paid attention to every detail. It was such a piece of mind to get a very extensive full report explaining the issues. It made me feel safer in the house because I know everything was checked the right way. He also used a thermal imaging tool and detected many insulation voids within the walls. I am a senior citizen and he also offered me a discount. If I purchase another home I will certainly contact him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Juarez, a very professional home inspector with Homequest Home Inspections. I highly recommend his service. He has updated equipment that made the inspection efficient and was very thorough and knowledgeable. He used thermal imaging which in my opinion is a very useful and amazing tool that can detect things that the eye can't. Mr. Juarez was very courteous and had great customer service. The fact that he answered all my questions and acknowledged my concerns definitely proves his professionalism. The inspection report was provided on the same day. Very pleased with his work and an inspection well done 👍🏼👍🏼!

Chris Juarez was very professional and on time for the inspection.  I required a home inspection for the purpose of  purchasing the house being inspected.  Mr. Juarez was able to accomdate a request for a weekend appointment, which helped me to get on with the process of purchasing the house in a more expedient manner.  Mr. Juarez provided a very through inspection.  He used a thermal imagining device to produce a report which allowed me to see that the radiant heat , via the ceramic floors, was in good conditon.  Unable to see the heating elements beneath the floor, the thermal imaging report provided me with a peace of mind that the heating system was in good shape.  I am pleased with the home inspection that Mr. Juarez provided and highly recommend Homequest Home Inspections to whomever is in need of this service.
